Practical information

A few useful pieces of information to keep at hand.

In an emergency, three numbers to know: 112 for police, 113 for an ambulance, 110 for the fire brigade. They work everywhere and operators speak English.

To stay connected, mobile coverage is very good, even deep in nature. A local eSIM or a plan with roaming in Norway will spare you depending on wifi, which is otherwise widely available in hotels and cafés.

Finally, on choosing the season, each period has its character: summer brings the midnight sun and endless days, ideal for hiking; winter brings the polar night and, in the north, the northern lights. There is no bad season, only different trips.

In brief

  • Emergencies: 112 (police), 113 (ambulance), 110 (fire).
  • Local eSIM recommended; good coverage even in nature.
  • Each season has its appeal: midnight sun in summer, northern lights in winter.
